This year, our Holiday Appeal highlights the powerful voices of three mothers whose children participate in the School Meals Program. Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, the need for reliable nutritional support has risen significantly. Economic pressures are affecting families across San Miguel de Allende, especially in the rural and semi-rural communities where we operate. As food prices increase, many households struggle to consistently provide balanced meals.
Our School Meals Program currently supports children in 39 school communities. We continue to expand nutrition education, improve menu planning, and uphold strict standards in food quality and safety. Yet the financial and logistical challenges have also grown.
The cost of ingredients and transportation has increased sharply. Delivering supplies every week requires efficient warehouse operations and careful planning. Maintaining this level of service is both essential and increasingly demanding.
That is why the Holiday Appeal is such an important effort every year. This is when we come together to ensure that no child is left without the sustenance they depend on to learn and flourish.
