A Letter from Our President

The 2024–2025 school year has been one of growth, resilience, and measurable impact in the lives of children and their families. Together, we served more than 921,000 school meals in San Miguel de Allende and San Luis de la Paz. We delivered 58 nutrition workshops that reached 3,186 beneficiaries, and through our Early Childhood Nutrition Program, by the end of July, 208 children in 20 communities were receiving vital support.

Our Extended Alimentation Program expanded to 14 communities, benefiting 157 children with food supplies and 120 workshops. We also opened a new school kitchen in El Salitre, extending our reach even further. On average, more than 10,000 liters of purified water were delivered each month across 25 schools, because hydration is just as essential to health and learning as food.

This summer brought important milestones: 42 children graduated from the Extended Alimentation Program with improved nutritional status, and new communities such as Puerto de Sosa and Lomas de Cocina joined the program. Families are not only receiving wholesome meals but also learning healthier eating habits, extending the programs benefits well beyond the classroom.

To ensure that no child went hungry during the school break, we provided over 200 food packages filled with balanced dry goods and fresh produce. And through our Hydration Program, we delivered 123,000 liters of purified water and led 27 workshops promoting better choices than sugary drinks.

As the new school year begins, we remain committed to welcoming thousands of children back with not just meals, but also clean drinking water, health education, and family support. Together with our donors, volunteers, and allies, we are fueling brighter, healthier futures.

Join Us This Fall

We are excited to invite you to two important events:

First off, coming up on September 28, we have Fashion Feeds at Rosewood San Miguel , where fashion, food, drinks and friends come together at the incredible Rosewood to support us.  Register now to make sure you have a seat on the runway.

Then, on the 26th of October, we have our iconic Walk-Run-Bike for Food Challenge at Viñedo Dos Búhos. A great day of fresh air, exercise, food, and prizes.  This is our biggest event of the year, and we are so excited to continue this tradition.

These gatherings raise critical funds while bringing our community together to celebrate the mission we share. I hope to see you at one of these events.

Finally, I extend heartfelt gratitude to our corporate allies, whose generosity and partnership make these achievements possible. Thank you for continuing to walk this journey with us. With your support, no child in San Miguel should ever know the pain of hunger.

Atentamente,

Mike Taylor
President, Feed the Hungry San Miguel, Inc.
