En 2015, el 44.3% de la poblaci\u00f3n del Gran San Miguel de Allende se encontraba en situaci\u00f3n de pobreza moderada y el 4.26% en pobreza extrema. La poblaci\u00f3n vulnerable por carencia social alcanz\u00f3 39.9%, mientras que la poblaci\u00f3n vulnerable por ingreso fue de 3.62%. Y eso fue antes de las p\u00e9rdidas econ\u00f3micas desencadenadas por la pandemia del COVID-19.<\/p>

Incluso en algunas de las comunidades donde brindamos alimentaci\u00f3n escolar, apoyo nutricional adicional para el resto de la familia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00a0es muy necesario. En respuesta, hemos desarrollado un nuevo programa de Alimentaci\u00f3n Extendida para ayudar a proporcionar alimentos y educaci\u00f3n a familias espec\u00edficas que presentan casos de desnutrici\u00f3n severa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El programa piloto se lanz\u00f3 en febrero. Gracias a nuestro nuevo sistema Health Score y al uso de datos de evaluaciones de salud realizadas antes del cierre de las escuelas, seleccionamos tres comunidades donde operamos comedores escolares, pero hay una gran cantidad de ni\u00f1os en edad escolar con peso moderado a severo. Se realizaron estudios socioecon\u00f3micos de sus familias, y las familias que aceptaron participar ahora reciben suministros dos veces al mes de alimentos frescos y productos secos ricos en prote\u00ednas. Tambi\u00e9n se benefician de talleres y asesor\u00edas brindadas por nuestros nutricionistas. El programa est\u00e1 activo en la comunidad de San Jos\u00e9 de Allende y pronto se lanzar\u00e1 en Palmilla y La Cuadrilla.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Alcance m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las comunidades de cocinas escolares<\/strong><\/p>

El programa piloto tambi\u00e9n incluir\u00e1 comunidades donde a\u00fan no operamos cocinas escolares. Tres han sido seleccionados en base a informes del gobierno sobre las condiciones en las m\u00e1s de 500 comunidades de San Miguel de Allende. Comenzamos estableciendo relaciones con los l\u00edderes comunitarios (delgados). Luego medimos a los ni\u00f1os en sus escuelas y extrapolamos los datos para determinar qu\u00e9 familias invitar a participar en el programa. Nuestros nutricionistas trabajar\u00e1n en estrecha colaboraci\u00f3n con las familias en el programa proporcionando bolsas de alimentos frescos y saludables una o dos veces al mes y ofreciendo clases adaptadas a sus circunstancias. Luego de seis meses, evaluaremos los resultados del programa de Alimentaci\u00f3n Extendida para determinar su efecto y decidir si se invitar\u00e1 a m\u00e1s familias a participar.<\/p>
