En los \u00faltimos 18 meses,\u00a0Feed the Hungry ha entregado m\u00e1s de un kilot\u00f3n m\u00e9trico de alimentos a trav\u00e9s de nuestra iniciativa Feed the Families<\/strong>, proporcionando nutrici\u00f3n esencial para miles de familias desesperadas.<\/p>

Kilot\u00f3n es una palabra poderosa. Por lo general, se entiende como una medida de energ\u00eda y poder destructivo. Pero para nosotros, representa algo mucho m\u00e1s positivo: la enorme cantidad de alimentos que hemos empacado y distribuido para combatir el hambre.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El programa Feed the Families se lanz\u00f3 en marzo de 2020 en respuesta a la emergencia de COVID-19, cuando miles de familias ya empobrecidas perdieron sus fuentes de ingresos y necesitaban ayuda con urgencia. Las mil toneladas m\u00e9tricas de alimentos entregadas a familias en apuros del municipio de San Miguel de Allende representan m\u00e1s de 13.000.000 comidas<\/strong> y un salvavidas para m\u00e1s de 20.000 personas.<\/p>\n

Si bien nuestro enfoque tradicional ha sido brindar nutrici\u00f3n a los ni\u00f1os en edad escolar, el programa de Nutrici\u00f3n para la Primera Infancia, que aborda las necesidades de los ni\u00f1os menores de cuatro a\u00f1os, se expandi\u00f3 a siete comunidades durante la pandemia. Tres comunidades m\u00e1s estar\u00e1n recibiendo los beneficios del programa este a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Aunque las escuelas p\u00fablicas han reabierto, las clases son solo por la ma\u00f1ana y asisten solo la mitad de la poblaci\u00f3n estudiantil por d\u00eda. Estamos trabajando en un programa de nutrici\u00f3n escolar modificado que podr\u00eda ser factible durante este per\u00edodo de transici\u00f3n. Ser\u00e1 un desaf\u00edo sin precedentes para nosotros administrar tres programas de comidas distintos: almuerzos escolares, bolsas de alimentos Feed the Family y el programa de Nutrici\u00f3n para la Primera Infancia.<\/p>\n

Cada dos semanas, Feed the Hungry entrega bolsas de alimentos a 37 comunidades. Adem\u00e1s, otras 24 ONG y defensores comunitarios recogen bolsas de alimentos del Centro Feed the Hungry para
distribuir a sus beneficiarios.<\/p>\n

No hace falta decir que nuestro personal y presupuestos est\u00e1n al l\u00edmite. Pero con su apoyo y el arduo trabajo de nuestros incre\u00edbles equipos, planeamos continuar haciendo todo lo posible para ayudar a nuestros vecinos a evitar el hambre.<\/p>\n

Gracias a la generosidad de nuestros donantes, hemos podido proporcionar bolsas de alimentos para que los siguientes grupos e individuos tambi\u00e9n las distribuyan a sus beneficiarios, extendiendo nuestro alcance m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las comunidades a las que entregamos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
